5 simple daily routines according to Ayurveda.

Let’s start with a basic fact. The “Circle of Life” which simply means everything in Nature moves in a cyclic manner whether it be physical, mental, behavioural cycles or it may be day and night cycles, from winter through spring. 

Similarly there’s a way that you should live your daily life by – a daily routine, a cycle of things that must go right for your health to be on track.

This article will help you to get back on track with your health issues. Here are few daily routine tips which will benefit you in many ways. 

1 .Early to Bed and Early to rise

Medical texts recommend one must get in bed early before 11pm and wake up before 6am. The significance of this is this helps you to balance the kaph Dosh (controls muscle growth, body strength and stability, weight, and your immune system) in the morning and Vat dosh (controls our locomotion, movements and inhalation and exhalation) in the evening. 

2. Removing the toxins

One must have a habit to urinate after rising and evacuate. These are mentioned as “Adharniya Veg” (Something which should not be collected in the body and thrown immediately out of the body) in Ayurveda which simply means unstoppable urges. One should never control these urges. 

3. Scrapping and gargling

The “kaph toxins” (which is generated during the digestion procedure and gets settled on the tongue). So use a scraper moving from back to front. Gargling known as “Gandush” which is to be done daily with mild dravyas(materials) like milk or honey and water or lukewarm water will also do well. 

4. Muscle Stretching and Massage

“Vyayam and Abhyang” are two terms used for Exercise and Massage Abhyanga, Exercise is a must as everyone knows According to a survey one must exercise at least 20 minutes a day. 

Self-massage with warm oil, tones your skin and muscles while calming your mind and nervous system also helps soothe the entire nervous system. Self massage is great way to cure your skin. Moreover, it results in increased circulation, detoxification, and stimulation of nerve endings. 

5. Breakfast-lunch-dinner

According to Ayurveda your meals should be “shadrasatmak” which means every day meal must include all the Six rasas i.e

  1. madhur(sweet),
  2. lavan(salt),
  3. amala(sour),
  4. Katu(bitter),
  5. tikth(spicy),
  6. kashay(astringent).
  • One must have a heavy breakfast as it’s the first meal of the day and should be heavy enough! The afternoon meal should be average like not so heavy and not so light. This is because if your lunch is heavy all the blood is concentrated there and then you feel sleepy and drowsy. Dinner includes a light meal this is easier to digest and helps to avoid midnight disorders like Cardiac Arrest, Angina pectoris etc.
  • Try to avoid junk items like pizza burgers because they are really hard to digest and it may lead to disease firstly symptoms are hard stools, bleeding in stools etc.
  • People often forget to include fruits in diet.”Madhur ras atmak”(sweet in taste) meals are easy to digest and fruits are often rich in Madhur Ras(sweet in taste) . Hence it can be included in breakfast or dinner. 

By following these simple routine one can easily adopt healthy lifestyle without any efforts.
